Seeing the depth come through in my 3D captures has been such a fun change from my usual photography. The lens is small enough to keep mounted without making my camera feel awkward, and I found the controls straightforward from the beginning. It also feels well assembled, with a solid fit on the camera and no distracting looseness.
I have enjoyed using it for casual scenes where I want more than a standard flat view can provide. Nearby subjects have a convincing sense of depth, and the perspective makes ordinary moments feel much more immersive when viewed in a compatible setup. There is a definite learning curve with framing, but I found that part enjoyable rather than frustrating.
Focusing has been dependable during normal use, and the STM operation is a nice touch when recording video. Movement between subjects feels natural rather than abrupt, which helps keep clips pleasant to watch. I also appreciate having a lens designed specifically around this type of capture instead of trying to create the effect through software later.
Size has been another advantage for me. It adds very little bulk to my camera bag, so bringing it along for walks, outings, and casual recording does not feel like a chore. The small form also makes it easier to experiment with different viewpoints without feeling weighed down by a large setup.
Low-light scenes require a little more care, particularly when I want clean results without relying heavily on higher sensitivity. In good daylight, though, I have been impressed by how enjoyable the depth effect can be. I have also found myself paying more attention to subject placement and foreground details because those elements can make the three-dimensional presentation much more noticeable.
There is a niche appeal here, but for my style of photography and video, that is exactly what makes it interesting. It gives me a fresh way to record familiar places and moments, and the lightweight design makes experimentation easy. I am happy with how much creative variety it has added to my camera setup.
